It is with some amusement that I find myself at the this event, the carnival, spectacle or other such gathering which is the traditional subject matter of those who exist in the photo ghetto, people who belong to picture agencies which act as defacto camera clubs for lens men who can not see the possibilities of art and the way photography can contribute to the evolution of art practice. They see only a stagnant medium operating in the glory days of the still image somewhere in the middle of the last century and work accordingly. The enemies of art, the savours of traditional photographic practice.
Of course I have nothing against antiquarian art practices but these people shouldn’t complain about not receiving equal status in galleries and museums to contemporary art practice. enough for now, its sunny out there and I want to swim. This entry was posted in Diary.
